GOING VEGAN CHANGED MY LIFE
I switched to a vegetarian diet 12 years ago and decided to eliminate dairy and all other animal products from my diet 3 years ago. The decision to go vegetarian 12 years ago was because I suddenly made the connection that as an animal lover, who had a pet dog, I was being a hypocrite eating meat. There is no difference between eating a cow, sheep, cat, or a dog. All animals are beautiful gifts to our planet earth and should have equal rights. The farming practice is cruel and unusual punishment, inhumane, and should be outlawed. Whether you kill an animal with your own bare hands, or pay someone else to kill the animal, you are contributing to an inhumane practice.
I attended a seminar May 2014, where the speaker spoke about the harmful effects of dairy. At the time, I was suffering from health problems such as severe eczema, elevated cholesterol, fatigue, and overweight. At the seminar, I spoke to my cousin who is an avid vegan, she pointed out the inhumane practices of the dairy industry. Since that day, I eliminated all dairy out of my diet, and started eating whole food plant-based foods, and literally overnight I transformed my health and body to an unimaginable level, which allowed me to compete in a fitness competition 8 months later. It was crazy to look at myself in the mirror and look like a fitness model, rather than a typical overweight physician. I had decided to transform my body and health, but the results were out of this world incredible, so I decided to share my method of success with my patients.
Dr. Angie is passionate about disease prevention, she has influenced hundreds of friends and patients to switch to a vegan diet, and she continues to work hard to spread the vegan message. She was recently on a major Iranian television network where she spoke about the health benefits of a whole food plant-based diet. She hopes to inform, educate and help you adopt a healthier and more humane lifestyle. By combining evidence based medicine, her expertise in the digestive system and her passion for physical fitness and plant-based nutrition, Dr. Angie has developed a comprehensive approach to helping patients live a healthy life.
